FLASH Rocketry : November 18, 2006 Launch

FLASH's November launch was the last launch of 2006. We resume the first weekend of January 2007. Weather was beautiful with nearly cloudless skies, great temperature, and about 5 mph winds. The benefits of living in Florida! Several low/mid power flights kept the pads busy, including a neat 2 rocket drag race on G33's. Some great high power flights were also witnessed. The most noteworthy was the flight of the Negotiator on a J285 for a successful TRA Level 2 certification. Bob Backlinie's Concept 75 had a great flight on a Loki J528, but due to an eyenut coming lose the fincan separated during decent. Fortunately, no damage done. Mark Morris' MegaBandit flew on a CTI K570 that seemed to burn forever, powering it to an altitude of over 6300 feet.

All and all a very good year for FLASH even with several canceled launches due to extremely dry conditions. January begins our new flying season and change of our flying schedule from the third weekend of the month to first so we can accommodate our new on-site vendor, Bernie. Come out to our launches, everyone is welcome!
